Qu Jian (b. 1970)

Qu Jian, born in 1970, holds a Ph.D. and is a distinguished Chinese painter celebrated for his bird-and-flower paintings. He graduated from the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts and later from Nanjing University of the Arts. He currently serves as the Executive Vice Chairman of the China Artists Association and previously held positions as Vice President of the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts and Dean of the School of Art at Northwest University. Known for his profound mastery of brush-and-ink, distinctive visual language and contemporary sensibility, Qu is widely recognized as one of the leading figures in modern bird-and-flower painting. He also serves as a council member of the China Art Critics Association, Vice Chairman of the Expert Committee on Digital Art and Design of China, and an expert member of the Art Sub-committee of the National Postgraduate Education Steering Committee, among other influential appointments. His works attract strong attention in the collecting community and are regarded as having significant value and investment potential in the art market.
