Description
A delicate dragonfly perches above a blooming pink lotus in this tranquil pond scene, its translucent wings a counterpoint to the broad gray-green lotus leaves below. Rendered in fine gongbi brushwork, the composition captures a fleeting moment of stillness. The inscribed verse, "When the wind is still, the fragrance of the lotus fills the air" (風定蓮池自在香), from the poet Qin Shaoyou, suggests that true beauty reveals itself only in moments of calm.
